Star Ceiling Modular Starry Sky Acoustic Panels
A fiber optic cable consists of PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) plastic fiber strands that transmit light from a light source known as an illuminator. The fiber cable distributes light to the desired location without an electrical current or heat in the fiber cable. Advantageous when installed in wet areas or submersible environments in pools and spas.
A UV-resistant outer covering protects the inner fiber strands in either a black or transparent sheath, depending on the lighting application. By using non-electric fiber cables and their protective outer sheaths, cold light can be submersed and transmitted indoors and outdoors.
Fiber cables come in their bare (non-insulated) fiber strand form or as end-emitting and side-emitting fiber cables encased in an outer sheath. The end-emitting fiber cable transmits light to shine from the end. Sheathed in a non-translucent PVC jacket prevents light leakage, thus allowing a brighter light from the cable's end. The side-emitting fiber cable shines light along the side through the transparent sheath. The lighting application governs the type of fiber cable required. For instance, the end-emitting fiber cable is appropriate in a downlight application, whereas the side-emitting cable is more appropriate for a neon light effect.

1. How big is a standard size panel?
Our standard Star Ceiling panels are 600mm x1200mm and are just 10mm deep. Panels can also be custom cut to any size needed.
2. How many stars are in each panel?
Each standard panel has 20 fibre optic stars (30 per s/m) on our unique flock velour surface.
3. Are the joints of the panels visible after installation?
ln a room with reasonable light control, as in most home theaters, the joints are not visible.The only time joints, are visible.is where a lot of natural light is present through large picture windows with the curtains opened. In this instance some fibre nap variation may also be apparent.
4. How much power to they use?.
Each panel only draws 3 watts of power. Up to50 panels can be powered by one small 5v, 1.2A power supply.
